High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 27 August 2026 .
River levels at Trowell Gauge are rising rapidly due to the nature of the catchment. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around the tributaries to the River Erewash near the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, including Golden Brook and Stream, Boundary Brook, Nut Brook, Bailey Brook, Beauvale Brook and Nether Green Brook. Thunderstorms are forecast over the next 24 hours.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded .
