River levels are rising on the River Esk at Briggswath due to rainfall associated with Storm Babet. Areas most at risk include Properties in Ruswarp. Further rainfall is expected through the evening and levels are expected to peak around 3.6m at Briggswath in the early hours of Saturday morning (21/10/2023). Our incident room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 02:00 am on 21/10/2023, or as the situation changes.
