Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected.
River levels are high and continuing to rise on the River Evenlode following heavy rainfall last night. Therefore, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible this evening and overnight 24/12/2020, especially in Cassington. No further rainfall is forecast today (24/12/20) or tomorrow. We expect river levels to continue to rise this evening and overnight until on 24/12/2020.
Our incident response staff are in the area clearing weed/trash screens to reduce flood risk. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings and avoid contact with flood water. Refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels
