River Ewenny and Vale of Glamorgan west

Flood Alert

A band of heavy rain will pass through the Ewenny catchment between 10:45 PM on Thursday the 6th of December and 6:45 AM on Friday the 7th of December. The River Ewenny, between Pencoed and Ewenny Village, is expected to reach its peak level between 8:00AM and 9:00AM on Friday the 7th of December. Other river catchments in the Vale of Glamorgan area are expected to behave in a similar manner. There is still some uncertainty about the rainfall distribution over this period and therefore the timing and magnitude of flood peaks may change during the intervening period. The combination of ground conditions, existing river levels and forecast rainfall quantities gives a high risk of flooding of low-lying land during the next 24 hours.

This information last updated 5:05pm, Thursday 6th December.
