Flood Warning

River levels have risen at the Marple Bridge river gauge on 31/07/19, as a result of localised thunderstorms. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for some properties in Marple, Romiley and Offerton.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next few hours. We expect river levels to continue to rise and peak at a level of 2.1m between 18:00 and 18:30.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue (further) flood warnings if necessary.
Please be aware of your surroundings and keep up to date with the current situation.
This message will be updated this evening, 31/07/2019, or as the situation changes.
