Flood warning

River levels are rising on the River Lee after heavy rainfall overnight into this morning, Monday 23 September. Flooding is expected this morning when river levels reach their peak.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Lee, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Batford; Lower Luton Road; Wheathampstead; Crawley Road; The Potting Shed; Coldharbour Lane; Riverside Estate; Lea Business Park; Cherry Tree Lane; Station Road (The Bull); Meads Lane; Mill Walk; High Street; Ash Grove; Kingfisher Close; Riverside Clinic; The Folly; King Edward Place; Leasey Dell Drive.

Weather conditions are expected to improve in the afternoon. The risk of flooding is expected to reduce from later this afternoon, Monday 23 September.

Residents should consider putting your flood plan into action. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. We are monitoring rainfall and checking rivers for blockages.
