Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Rising river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from overnight on 14 November 2025 .
Upstream of Stokesley, water levels remain high due to continued partial closure of the penstock. The river flow continues to be diverted around Stokesley in the flood diversion channel. Rainfall overnight may cause upstream water levels to rise. Property flooding isn't expected and no flood warnings are currently thought to be necessary. Location most affected will be riverside footpaths, roads and low lying land.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
