Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are continuing to rise on the River Medway, River Teise and the River Beult as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of some properties in Yalding is currently expected from 6am on Monday 28 December 2020. Property owners with property flood resilience measures should deploy them now. Shallow flooding at The Tatt, Acott Fields and along Benover Road and Gravelly Ways are also possible. We currently expect river levels to continue to rise overnight and through the day tomorrow, peaking in the early evening on Monday 28 December. Flood levels may reach similar levels to that seen in December 2019. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been in Yalding and the surrounding area and we are coordinating our response with local authorities and emergency services. This message will be updated by 8am on Monday 28 December 2020, or sooner if the situation changes significantly.
