The flood warning for the River Ouse at Naburn Lock remains in force. This is due to high river levels following rainfall and snowmelt from the weekend. The level at York Viking recorder is 3.88m and is slowly rising, following recent rainfall. Levels at Naburn will remain high and are expected to peak at 4.4-4.8m on Thursday 21/01/2021. Please be aware that persistent and heavy rain is forecast until Thursday. We expect levels to rise significantly. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not drive through flood water. Please see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
