Flood warning

The flood warning remains in force for the River Ouse at York, Peckitt Street. The river Ouse is rising in response to this weekend’s rainfall and is forecast to peak on Tuesday morning, 22/2/2022, at a level of approximately 4.7m - 5m. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Ouse, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around properties on Peckitt Street and along Clifford Street, Lower Friargate, Cumberland Street and King Street. Flooding of properties, gardens, roads and paths is expected. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. The Foss Barrier is operating, and our field teams have closed riverside floodgates. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. This message will be updated in 8 hours or as the situation changes.
