Flooding expected. Take action now.
Prolonged and heavy rainfall has fallen in the River Roding catchment over the last few days. The River Roding has risen significantly and remains high. Further rainfall is forecast overnight on Saturday 21 December and the risk of flooding to properties and low lying areas around Barking and East Ham is expected to continue into Sunday.
Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing. You should avoid walking or driving through flood water.
We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the weekend.
