Flood warning

River levels continue to rise at the Haw Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property and farmland continues. Flooding is affecting Gabb Lane at Apperley and local caravan parks. Predicted Peak at Haw Bridge 4.8 to 5.0m the afternoon of Saturday 23/01/21. Further scattered showers are forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to rise until the afternoon of Saturday 23/01/21. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. This message will be updated by 17:00 on 21/01/21, or as the situation changes.
