Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

River levels are rising at the Sharnford river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected from 04:00 today 09/02/24. Areas most at risk are Sharnford, including Leicester Road Bridge, Sharnford Village, Soar Mill and Croft.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Sunday 11/02/24.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water and avoid contact with flood water.
This message will be updated by 10:00 on 09/02/24, or as the situation changes.
