River levels along the Steeping River and the Wainfleet relief channel have been falling steadily today, Wednesday 25th October. River levels remain above normal and are likely to remain high over the next few days. There may be standing water in low lying areas and fields for several days and the rivers will remain reactive to any future rainfall due to the saturated catchments. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, and avoid contact with flood water. Do not walk on flood embankments and avoid riverside paths.
