Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Sandwell Woodend river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is possible overnight and into this morning 19/12/2024. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in the Woodend, Greenway, Beauchamp Avenue, The Croftway, Walcot Drive, Hamstead Road, Kirkstone Crescent, Old Walsall Road and Hampstead Industrial Estate areas.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until this afternoon 19/12/2024.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.
Please move family, pets, possessions, valuables and cars to safety and activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers.
This message will be updated by 10:00 this morning 19/12/2024, or as the situation changes.
