Flooding expected. Take action now.
Heavy rain is currently falling in the River Glen catchment and will continue throughout the morning on Monday, January 6. This is causing River Tham to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the early hours of the morning. Low lying areas near to the River Tham are already flooded and we now expect properties in the Castle Bytham and Little Bytham to be affected this morning onwards. Low lying properties close to the River Tham in Little Bytham are expected to be affected first. Further heavy rainfall is forecast for the morning of Monday, January 6, and therefore river levels are likely to continue to rise. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 3PM on 06/01/25, or before if the situation changes.
