Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected.
River levels are high but falling on the River Thames at Abingdon. Flooding of property, low lying land and roads is expected to continue, especially properties closest to the Thames on Waters Edge, Bridge Street and East St. Helens Street.
The weather forecast is for scattered showers over the coming days. We do not expect these showers to significantly affect river levels. River levels are expected to continue falling but will remain high over the coming days.
Our staff are liaising with councils and emergency services and operating weirs on the Thames to manage flood risk. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Do not drive through flood water.
This message will be updated before this evening, 01/12/2024, or as the situation changes.
