River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Llanymynech river gauge as a result of storm Christoph. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in and around Melverley including Melverley to Melverley Green and Ponthen to Melverley roads. Peaks:- Llanymynech peaked at 5.13m on Wednesday night 20/01/21, Predicted Peak:- Crew Green 6.5m to 6.7m this afternoon, Thursday 21/01/21. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Friday, 22/01/21. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 4pm today, 21/01/21, or as the situation changes.
