River Went catchment Flood alert 8:37pm, Saturday 7th February

Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Levels have been slowly falling on the upper reaches of the River Went through today, but may rise again overnight in response to further rainfall on Saturday evening. We do not currently expect to issue any flood warnings as a result of this rainfall. Levels should then fall again through Sunday. The lower reaches of the River Went will remain high going into Sunday.

Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the River Went and Hoyle Mill Stream from Ackworth Moor Top to the River Don.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
