Flood warning

River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Brentingby Dam river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are Melton Mowbray and the Wreake Valley. Brentingby Reservoir is operating as designed, but has reached full capacity. A controlled, steady release is currently underway. No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until today, 09/01/2025. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area. To check the status of road closures online, please visit the One Network live map. This message will be updated by 13:00 today, 09/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
