Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen at the Ashford river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property and roads is expected. Areas most at risk are Rowsley, including the A6. We expect river levels to remain high until Thursday morning, 21/01/21. We have received reports at 22:00 20/01/21 that the A6 between Bakewell and Rowsley is impassable due to flood water. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 22/01/21, or as the situation changes.
