Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Hay-On-Wye river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected from 04:00 today, 06/01/25. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in and around Hay and Hereford areas including the A438 between Letton and Willersley and Whitney on Wye. Predicted peaks, Hay on Wye 3.4 to 3.8m on Monday morning 06/01/25, Bredwardine 5.7 to 6.0m on Monday morning, 06/01/25. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and move possession and valuables off the ground or to safety.
