Although the rivers Cocker and Derwent are now dropping, further rain throughout this morning will cause the rivers to remain above the flood warning threshold for most of today, Wednesday 5 November.
Locations most affected will be the rivers Cocker and Derwent at Cockermouth, Cricket Ground, Trout Hotel and Market Street Car Parks, Hatters Croft.
We are closely monitoring the situation
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water
