River levels remain high on the River Eden due to heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads, particularly around Lingfield this evening, Monday 4th December. No property flooding is expected. Further heavy showers are possible overnight, before clearing on Tuesday morning. Flooding of low lying land is expected to continue until the morning of Tuesday 5th December. We are monitoring river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 9am on 5th December 2023, or as the situation changes.
