River levels have peeked but will remain high due to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Flooding has already begun and is expected to continue to affect low lying land and farmland, particularly in rural areas between Edenbridge and Penshurst, through today, Monday 17 February. Please avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded, and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. We are closely monitoring the situation and have issued flood warnings in the areas most at risk. Please maintain awareness for subsequent messages. Our incident response staff will continue to be out in this area, checking structures and clearing blockages where it is safe to do so. This message will be updated by 6pm, Monday 17 February.
