Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen at the Victoria Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, low lying land and roads is expected. Residential and commercial properties are at risk in the Westmorland Business Park, Gilthwaite Rigg, Burneside Road, Benson Green areas. Riverside pathways and the Goose Holme Park area will also be affected.
We expect river levels to remain high this evening and overnight.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
