Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The Scrasebridge and West Common Streams have returned nearer to normal following intense rainfall on Thursday and Friday morning. Lighter showers are expected on Friday evening and into Saturday. River levels are not expected to rise significantly in response to this. Therefore, this flood alert will be removed. Heavier showers could occur on Sunday. We'll reissue this message if property flooding again becomes possible.
If you see a blockage affecting the flow in the river on Bridge Road or Hickmans Lane, please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60. We routinely clear debris from grilles through Lindfield, including the Builders Centre and Witch Inn, to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk.
