Flooding expected. Take action now.
Large and powerful waves are expected to overtop sea defences as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. The time and date of the forecast high water is 21:30 on 30/09/19. The forecast tide level is 8.43 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 6 West South Westerly. Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Flooding to properties, roads and farmland is possible at these times, however conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. Strong onshore winds will cause tide levels to rise further. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closing flood gates. Please stay away from large waves as they are dangerous. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 01/10/19, or as the situation changes
