Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides, strong winds and large waves this morning may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from 9AM to 11AM on 09 December 2025.
Areas most at risk include the Severn Estuary at Severn Beach including New Passage and Pilning. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth of 6.6m AODN at 10:00AM on 09 December 2025 (mAODN is height above average sea level.) Flooding is possible for up to an hour either side of peak tide due to forecast Force 7 southerly winds. After the morning high tide, the weather is more settled, and no further flooding is expected.
We are closely monitoring the situation and checking flood defences.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water and avoid coastal roads, which may be flooded.
