Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides, strong winds and large waves over the next two days may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from Friday evening to Saturday morning.
Areas particularly at risk include Challaborough, Hope Cove, North and South Sands.
The high tide at Plymouth on Friday is at 05:45PM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.83mAOD, which is 0.48 metres above tide table level. Strong force 7 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of up to 3.5m are forecast over the high tide. On Saturday the forecast total high tide level is 2.91mAOD at 06:00AM, which is 0.39 metres above tide table level. Strong force 7 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of up to 4.1m are forecast over the high tide.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
