Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the Stainfield Beck catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. Rain will continue into the evening of Tuesday 2nd January. This is causing the Beck to rise, and is forecast to continue to rise through tonight and into tomorrow. Low lying areas near to the Beck are already flooded, and we now expect properties to be affected from early evening onwards. The village hall and cottages on Main Road in Stainfield are expected to be affected first. The rainfall associated with Storm Henk has mostly fallen, but river levels will continue to rise overnight. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 3rd January, or before if the situation changes.
