Flooding expected. Take action now.
The water level in the Stanbridge Stream is high and rising rapidly. In the last 5 hours, heavy and intense rain has fallen with 35 mm recorded at Petersfield. At Borough Grove, water is now flowing out across the green and could flood property nearest the debris screen in the next 30 minutes. Property either side of the river at Grange Road is also at risk of flooding. Water levels will be significant through Petersfield Business Park. Further rain is forecast over the next 3 hours with up to 10mm expected. The river will continue to rise until 23:00 Thursday 04/01/24. Our operational staff are in Petersfield keeping all the debris screens clear of blockages. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please take appropriate action to protect property now. The weather forecast improves from tomorrow and this should allow the river to return to the normal seasonal level.
This Flood Warning will be updated by 15:00 Friday 05/01/24.
