River levels remain high but have started to fall at the Tern – Walcot and Rodington river gauges following recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland continues. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Wolverley to Newport. Other locations that may be affected include Market Drayton, Wem and Rodington.
No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high for several days.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 9:00 on Wednesday 11/12/24, or as the situation changes.
