Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides this afternoon may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible from 1:00pm and 3:00pm today, Monday 28th September. 
Areas most at risk are Coalhouse Fort and car park, and the low lying land between the fort and Coalhouse Point. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Southend of 3.45mAODN at 2:00pm, on Monday 28th September, which is 0.4m above tide tables, Wind Force 3, North Easterly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded . 
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 29 September 2026 or as the situation changes.
