Flooding possible. Be prepared.
This message is being issued for the high tide on Wednesday 3 January at 11:45, when strong winds, large waves and a higher than average tide are forecast to coincide. At high tide water levels will be high up slipways through Newhaven. Water will affect areas of North Quay, Railway Quay, Riverside North and the Recreation Ground. Water may also back up through the drains. We are monitoring conditions and are ready to respond to any flooding. Tide levels are high over the next 48 hours and further Flood Alerts will be issued. This message will be updated by 15:00 Wednesday 3 January.
