Flooding expected. Take action now.
The water level in the Tilmore Brook at Winchester Road is high and rising. In the last 5 hours, heavy and intense rain has fallen with 33mm recorded at Petersfield. From 18:00 this evening, flooding will affect property at Winchester Road (near Beckham Lane), Rushes Road, Frenchman's Road, Petersfield Town and Merritt Meadow. The heaviest rain has now cleared the area. Showery conditions will continue until tomorrow morning (05/01/2024). The river will peak in the next 2 hours. Our operational staff are on the way to Petersfield and will work to keep all the debris screens clear of blockages so water can flow freely. We'll issue further advice. Please take appropriate action to protect property, installing flood protection if you have it. This Flood Warning will be updated by 12:00 on Friday 05/01/2024.
