River levels at the Belper Whitemoor Lane River Gauge have fallen but the possibility of flooding still remains today, 27 August 2026. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around the tributaries to the River Derwent and River Trent in South Derbyshire, including Black Brook, Coppice Brook, Markeaton Brook, Chaddeston Brook, Wilne Drain, Cuttle Brook, Doles Brook, Ramsley Brook and Carr Brook. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded .
