Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels are falling, however flooding of roads, paths and farmland remains possible.

Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Bamford, Leadmill, Curbar, Grindleford, and Rowsley.

Little rainfall is forecast over the rest of the weekend so river levels will continue to fall.

We continue to closely monitor the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.

This message will be updated by 18:00 on 22/10/23, or as the situation changes.
