River levels are expected to rise overnight and early tomorrow morning on the Upper Dorset Frome, Hooke River. Further locally heavy rainfall is forecast overnight tonight which will cause river levels to rise again. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Upper Dorset Frome, Hooke River, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around tributaries between Toller Whelme and Dorchester. Flooding is possible at tributaries between Toller Whelme and Dorchester from 06:00 AM on 09/12/2023. Further heavy rainfall is forecast this afternoon. We are clearing debris from weed screens in the area. We are closely monitoring the situation. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 5:00 PM on 09/12/2023, or as the situation changes.
