Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Due to the overnight snow melting and heavy rainfall, river levels are expected to rise and cause flooding to low lying ground.
Flooding is possible throughout the morning Monday 06/01/2025.
Areas most at risk include The River Douglas from Horwich Star Vale to Appley Bridge including Adlington, Blackrod, Wigan, Standish, and Gathurst.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and closely monitoring the situation.
This message will be updated by 4:00 PM on 06/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
