Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Over the last few hours we have seen very heavy rainfall showers in and around the Peterborough Area. This means that Paston Brook has now risen, which will lead to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the river from this evening, Friday 9th July onward. We expect the brook to remain high for a few hours. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties is possible and therefore flood warnings could be issued later this evening. We are constantly monitoring river levels, and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated as the situation changes.
