Flooding expected. Take action now.
Storm Henk has brought heavy rain in the wider River Steeping catchment, which has fallen onto already saturated ground. Rain will continue into the evening of Tuesday 2nd January. This is causing the River Steeping to rise, and is forecast to continue to rise through tonight and into tomorrow. We are issuing this Flood Warning proactively to allow people time to take action. Low lying areas near to the River Steeping are already flooded and we now expect properties to be affected at some point during the night. Properties on Church Lane in Croft are expected to be affected first. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 16:00 on 3rd January, or before if the situation changes.
