Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood Warning

Large and powerful waves are expected to overtop sea defences as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Consequently, flooding is expected within 2 hours of high tide at 00:15 am tomorrow, 11/02/20 along the coastline around Winchelsea and Pett Level. Strong winds are forecast to cause continued tidal surges through Tuesday 11/02/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking our defences and structures and actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated by 10am tomorrow morning, 11/02/20, or as the situation changes. A forecast tide of 4.7 m AOD is expected at 00:15 on 11/02/20 with Force 8 westerly winds.
