Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

High river levels are expected to cause flooding this evening. 
Flooding is expected on 24 March 2026 . 
The rain will continue into this evening before it will clear Cumbria from midnight. Due to some uncertainty, the intensity of the rainfall, rising flood levels and being in contact with Wigtan Flood group we're issuing the Flood Warning and a precautionary measure. Locations most affected will be properties on and just off Station Rd including The Innovia Factory, Fire Station, Miller Park and Slaters Yard. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. 
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 25 March 2026 or as the situation changes.
