Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising rapidly on the Doomgate Beck surcharge/surface water due to heavy rainfall which will continue into this evening, Sunday the 21st of January.
Areas most at risk include the Holme Street, Chapel Street and Cherry Row areas which should prepare for flooding from 7:00 PM on 21/01/2024.
Our incident response staff are closing flood gates, checking defences and liaising with emergency services and local authorities.
Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings.
This message will be updated by 12:00 midnight on 21/01/2024, or as the situation changes
