Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

River levels are falling but remain high downstream. Flooding is still possible for the next few days. Areas most at risk are Woolgrove Road, Green Lane, Purwell Lane, Brook View, Ninesprings Way and Oakfield Avenue in Hitchin, Stevenage Road in Ashbrook, Stevenage Road, Priory Lane and Elms Close in Little Wymondley, High Street and Church Lane in Graveley. The forecast is for drier conditions for the latter part of the week allowing river levels fall. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message by 9 am tomorrow, Thursday 03/10/24.
