Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are falling but remain high downstream. Flooding is still possible for the next few days. Areas most at risk are Woolgrove Road, Green Lane, Purwell Lane, Brook View, Ninesprings Way and Oakfield Avenue in Hitchin, Stevenage Road in Ashbrook, Stevenage Road, Priory Lane and Elms Close in Little Wymondley, High Street and Church Lane in Graveley. The forecast is dry today and tomorrow but unsettled from Sunday into next week, further rainfall will keep levels high or push them up again. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message by 5pm, Friday 04/10/24.
