WARNING UPDATE. Flooding is expected in Aviemore/Dalfaber to Grantown. Act now.
Water levels on the River Spey remain very high and have continued to rise throughout Tuesday. As of late afternoon on Tuesday the river is still rising and may continue to for several more hours. Flooding is expected. It is likely to be late in the evening on Hogmanay or New Years Day morning before there is much improvement in the situation. Low lying properties and access roads along the Spey Valley from Aviemore to Grantown are expected to flood, including in the areas around Boat of Garten and Nethy Bridge. Routes may be impassable and extensive flooding to low lying land in the valley is expected.
