Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from midnight tonight, 31/12/2024.
Areas most at risk include Blackburn Brook from High Green to Meadowhall, including Charlton Brook, Ecclesfield Brook and Whitley Brook.
Further flooding is possible overnight as river levels will rise rapidly due to heavy rainfall. River levels are forecast to peak at Sheffield Wincobank between 03:00 AM and 08:00 AM tomorrow, 01/01/2025.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and liaising with emergency services and local authorities. We will issue flood warning where required.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded.
We will aim to update this message by 09:00 AM on 01/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
