Flood warning

Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:30 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal, due to unsettled weather with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.74 m. The total forecast tide is 5.91 metres Chart Datum (3.17 mAOD) at Chichester Harbour. For 2 hours either side of high water, deep flooding will occur at Shore Road, Bosham High Street and Gloucester Terrace. Water will seep over the tidal embankments into fields at West Itchenor where isolated properties near to and including the sailing club are likely to be flooded. The southern part of Shore Road, near and including Stumps Lane could also see impacts. Tuesday's tide at 12:30 on 09/04/2024 is forecast to be 50cm lower (2.57 mAOD). Minor flood impacts will still be possible, affecting Bosham Shore Road and Bosham High Street Tuesday afternoon. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 2 hours before high tide. We will update this message by 18:00 on 09/04/2024.
