Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Smithy Houses river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is possible from approximately 5pm this evening, 14/11/2019. Areas most at risk are Lower Kilburn, and Coxbench, including the B6179.
Further persistent heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high throughout tonight, 14/11/2019. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water. This message will be updated tonight, 14/11/2019, or as the situation changes.
